Institute of Manufacturing Engineering
In line with the principles of Industry 4.0, the Institute of Manufacturing Engineering focuses on research, education and training of specialists in manufacturing technologies and computer-aided manufacturing. The institute’s research activities focus primarily on manufacturing technologies, materials engineering, metrology, CA systems, parametric and generative design, 3D digitisation, additive manufacturing, robotics, virtual reality, and manufacturing process monitoring. In the field of education, the Institute focuses on preparing specialists in modern manufacturing technologies who can respond effectively to the current and future needs of industry.

Department of Manufacturing Technologies
The Department of Manufacturing Technologies is one of the two departments within the Institute of Manufacturing Engineering. Its activities focus not only on basic and applied research but also on international scientific cooperation in the fields of manufacturing technologies, materials engineering, metrology covering various levels of automation and incorporating robotics applications in accordance with the principles of Industry 4.0. The department’s research activities extend beyond the mechanical engineering industry to selected areas of healthcare, veterinary medicine, plastics processing, and defence industries. The results of the department’s scientific and research activities are incorporated into the continuous development and innovation of educational processes helping to prepare graduates capable of addressing multidisciplinary challenges in industry. The department’s mission is to educate and prepare specialists whose knowledge and skills enable them to respond effectively to both the current and future needs of industrial enterprises.
